Dr. John Burk graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999.  Upon graduation he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where he practiced small animal medicine for eight years including three years working for a 24 hour emergency and referral hospital.  In August of 2007 Dr. Burk moved to Normal, IL where he has worked at Kruger Animal Hospital for the last 12 years before coming to Animal Wellness Center of Pontiac.  He enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially ophthalmology, emergency, and internal medicine. 

Outside of work, Dr. Burk enjoys spending time with his wife Amy, and their two children, Gabrielle and Logan.  Their family also includes a Cavachon named Pippa, and an orange tabby cat named Kenny.  Dr. Burk also enjoys reading, swimming, and golfing in his spare time.
